Soil nourishment is the process of maintaining soil quality to maintain soil fertility and enable sustainable crop cultivation. It requires continuous, correct soil improvement and proper soil properties, tailored to the soil type and conditions of the growing area. Soil is a fundamental factor for plant survival in general, storing water for plant growth and providing air for plant roots to breathe. Each group of participants visited the planting area and learned about soil nourishment through hands-on practice, using organic matter as a nutrient source for plants and a food source for soil microorganisms.
The Khok Nong Na Theory is a project to drive the development of a prototype area for improving quality of life based on a new theory, adapted into the “Kok Nong Na Model.” The following are examples: Khok: High land, planting “3 Forests, 4 Benefits” in accordance with the royal initiative; growing vegetables, vegetables, kitchen gardens, raising pigs, chickens, and fish, providing sufficient food, energy, and shade, a basic sufficiency economy. This leads to more advanced practices, such as making merit, giving alms, collecting, trading, and networking; and building homes that are compatible with the terrain and climate. 2. Nong: A pond or water source. Dig a pond to store water for use during droughts or when needed. and is a place to receive water during floods and 3. Rice fields: The rice fields are to be planted with local organic rice, starting with soil restoration by doing sustainable organic farming, returning small lives or microorganisms to the land, using water volume control in the fields to control grass, making it chemical-free and safe for both the planter and the consumer / raising the rice field ridges to be high and wide to be used as a place to receive water during floods, planting food crops along the rice field ridges.
